Minor Advising Check Sheets
An academic minor at a university is a secondary field of study that complements a student's major. It typically requires fewer courses than a major and allows students to gain expertise in an additional area of interest.
Within the department of Fine, Digital and Performing Arts we offer a multitude of choices for a student to study as a minor, ranging from Sound Design and Studio Arts to Game Design and Photography. When selecting a minor, it is common to consider how the new area may relate to your primary field of study, but a minor is equally important when you are pursuing the content for personal growth and edification. You are not required to pursue a minor, but it is not uncommon to do so. Speak with your advisor about how these options may be of personal or professional benefit.
