Parking Permits

Who needs a parking permit for their vehicle?
- Anyone who parks a vehicle on campus is required to have a parking permit displayed in the front of the vehicle
- This requirement applies to any vehicle that is motorized (gasoline or electric), including 2 & 3 wheeled vehicles
- Parking permits will not be required for bicycles
- A parking permit will be required for anyone with a Disability License Plate or Placard (designated spots will be available)
- Parking permits can transfer to any vehicle driven by the permit holder
- Additional parking permits will be available for a fee
How do I get my permit?
- Parking permits may be obtained from the Department of Public Safety by providing a copy of the vehicle registration and student ID.
When can I get my permit?
Permits will be issued according to the following schedule:
Week Before and 1st Week of Classes:
- University Center Lobby Monday-Friday, 8 am–3 pm
- Public Safety Office (ADM 023) Monday-Friday, 8 am–3 pm
After 1st Week of Classes:
- Public Safety Office (ADM 023) Monday-Friday, 8 am–3 pm
How will I be charged for parking?
- The General Parking fee will automatically be applied to student bills at the beginning of the academic year.
Will my financial aid be eligible to cover the parking permit fee?
- Yes. If you have financial aid available it can be applied to the parking permit fee.
Request Parking Fee Opt-Out and Refund
- Students may opt out by completing the Parking Fee Opt-Out Form
- By opting out of parking fees you will not be permitted to park a vehicle on any part of campus
- Requests must be submitted by the end of the 2nd week of classes
- If a permit is issued it must be returned to receive a refund
- Public Safety will provide proof of return to the Bursar’s Office for an adjustment to the student bill
- Students graduating during a fall semester will receive a refund for spring semester once the permit is returned. If necessary, temporary permits can be issued until Commencement.

- Purchase a Daily Permit online or visit the Department of Public Safety in Administration Building room 023 to purchase

- A Reserved Parking Permit guarantees access to reserved parking lots, but does not guarantee a specific parking space within a parking lot

- The General Parking fee will be deducted from your paycheck at the beginning of the academic year
- Faculty and staff will have the option to elect bi-weekly payroll deductions
- The Parking Permit Election Form must be completed by September 6, 2024
Request Parking Fee Opt-Out and Refund
- Faculty and staff may opt out of parking fees by completing the Parking Permit Election Form
- By opting out of parking fees you will not be permitted to park a vehicle on any part of campus
- Requests must be submitted by the end of the 2nd week of classes
- If a permit is issued it must be returned to receive a refund

Visitor or Special Guest
Visitors and departments with coordinated special guests (i.e., campus visits, orientations, contractors, etc.) may obtain a temporary parking permit from the Department of Public Safety at no charge.

Parking lots will have designated signage indicating the type of parking available. Below are general guidelines about the availability of parking:
- General parking lots will be available for anyone with a valid parking permit – general or reserved.
- Reserved parking lots will only be available for individuals with a valid reserved parking permit.
- Parking permits guarantee access to parking lots, but do not guarantee a specific parking space within a parking lot.

Parking Line Designations:
- Green lines are for Reserved Parking
- Blue lines are for Disability License Plate or Placard
- Orange/Brown lines for Townhouse Parking
- Yellow lines are for General Parking
- Dark Green lines are for Athlete Parking (A-2 parking lot only)
