Accounting Minor
The minor in Accounting provides the opportunity for business or nonbusiness students to gain the knowledge and expertise needed to assist for-profit, non-profit, and/or governmental institutions by providing information to management for decision-making purposes; ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws (including tax reporting); and evaluating the financial effects of management’s decisions. Students may pick from a list of Accounting electives that allows them to prepare for specific career opportunities.

Business Administration Minor
The minor in business administration provides the opportunity for nonbusiness students to gain common business knowledge and skills that enhance future supervisory and management career opportunities in diverse types of organizations. In addition, the minor covers most of the basic business courses requires as prerequisites in many MBA programs.

Esports Management Minor
Esports Management focuses on teaching students the operations side of the growing esports industry and what separates it from traditional sports. This minor provides an overview of management, broadcasting, sales, event planning, social media coordination and marketing activities in the field as well as compliance with league rules and publisher licensing. Students will build knowledge and skills specific to jobs in the industry.

Healthcare Administration Minor
The healthcare administration minor is designed for students enrolled in clinical health care programs who wish to develop their managerial skills. (It should be noted that the minor does not qualify a person to sit for the national and state nursing home license exam.) The minor requires 21 hours of health management courses.

Human Resources Management Minor
Human Resource Management (HRM or HR) is the strategic approach to the effective management of people in a company or organization such that they help their business gain a competitive advantage. The overall purpose of human resources (HR) is to ensure that the organization is able to achieve success through people. This degree can be added to the BSB Management degree to create a more specific degree, or can be taken by a non-Business major (such as Social Science) who is interested in applying their major to Business areas involving personnel and organizations.

Information Systems Minor
The minor in Information Systems provides the opportunity for students to gain technical knowledge and skills that enhance their ability to apply Information Systems tools and techniques in diverse careers and organizations. The minor requires 21 hours (7 classes), comprised of a core of 6 essential IS courses plus 3 credit hours of IS elective of the student's choice.

Marketing Minor
Marketing impacts our daily lives. All organizations depend on marketing communications to persuade and inform their "customers". Regardless of whether the "business" markets a cause, service, or good; managers will use marketing principles to achieve their objectives. A minor in marketing will expose you to the dynamic and diverse nature of the field of marketing. The student will have the opportunity to complete several "real-world" projects and should acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue management opportunities that require an understanding of marketing.

Quantitative Business Minor
Quantitative business analysis uses mathematical analysis and data to shed light on important statistics about business, markets, and organizations. This degree can be added to the BSB Management degree to create a more specific degree, or can be taken by a non-Business major (such as Math) who is interested in applying their major to Business areas involving mathematical analysis and data.

Sport Coaching Minor
All students enrolled in the minor in sport coaching complete a practicum experience under the direction of either a Shawnee State or local high school head coach in the sport of the student's choice. Students may indicate a preference for a given practicum site; however, the assignment will ultimately be made by the practicum director.
The length of each practicum experience corresponds to the length of the sport season. Students are advised that some sport seasons may involve work in more than one academic term during the year. Students must provide their own transportation to practicum sites.

Sport Management Minor
Sport Management refers to the business/operations side of the sport industry. In college athletics or professional sports organizations, for example, sport management professionals may be found performing a wide variety of tasks, including marketing, advertising, ticket sales, ordering and maintaining equipment and supplies, planning and maintenance of sports facilities, public relations, team travel coordination, and ensuring compliance with league rules.
