Shawnee State University Engineering Technologies and the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College's Industrial Technology program are taking manufacturing on the move with a mobile education lab made possible by a grant through the Ohio Department of Higher Education's RAPIDS program.
Shawnee State and Rio Grande are using this lab in partnership with Southern State Community College, Ohio University (Southern and Chillicothe campuses) and the Career Technical Centers of Scioto County, Pickaway-Ross, and Buckeye Hills.
The lab is used across the region to promote the manufacturing industry and careers in southeast Ohio. This includes providing programmable logic controller training to students and workers along with classes in additive manufacturing.
