Computer Science is about solving problems.
With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Shawnee State University, you’ll develop strong problem-solving and technological skills with a focus on research related to computer systems, algorithms, software development, and applications.
Students interested in working in unfamiliar situations and finding and solving new problems, generally by using computers, can find a hands-on career path through Computer Science.
You will begin academic research during the first year, which is a unique aspect of the CS program at SSU. During the remaining years, you will engage in further academic, industrial, and civic research opportunities. Along the way, you will complete courses in computing, mathematics, science, and the humanities. An important part of the experience is recognizing connections amongst seemingly unrelated ideas!
