Grants are considered gift aid and do not have to be repaid. Most grant aid is based on some type of need-based eligibility requirement; therefore, you must complete the FAFSA to apply for most grants. Although grants are a very desirable source of financial aid, the availability of grants is generally limited to the neediest students.
Below are grants offered by the state of Ohio for Ohio residents. In order to receive a state grant students must be seeking an associate or bachelor degree and male students must register with selective service. For more information regarding any of these grant programs, please contact the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), State Grants and Scholarships Departments at 1 (888) 833-1133 or visit their webpage.
