The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) at Shawnee State University will host Teresa Walters, renowned concert pianist who has earned worldwide praise for her dynamic performances, as she presents a concert titled “A Celebration of Hope & Healing” on Thursday, Sept. 15. Her performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater of the VRCFA.
Described by critics as “one of the world’s most significant pianists” and the “international first lady of piano”, Walters’ mesmerizing performances on today’s international stages have earned worldwide praise. She has performed as a recitalist and orchestral soloist on six continents and in most of the fifty United States. She is also the first American pianist invited to perform at the Franz Liszt Academy & Museum in Budapest. A native of the American Midwest, Walters earned a doctorate from Peabody Conservatory and has lived most of her adult life in the New York City area.

Tickets can also be purchased via telephone call at (740) 351-3600. Ticket prices for the show are $23 for standard, $20 for seniors, and $10 for those 18 years of age and under. Handicap accessible seating is available upon request.
