Shawnee State University’s Office of Military & Veteran Services welcomes all veterans and their families to campus on Friday, Nov. 11 to watch the first two games of the Mid-South Conference Crosssroads Challenge featuring teams representing four universities, including SSU Men’s Basketball. Both games will take place in the Waller Gymnasium of the James A. Rhodes Athletic Center, with the first game beginning at 5 p.m. and the second game – featuring the SSU Bears against University of Saint Francis – to follow at 7 p.m.

Military & Veteran Services invites all veterans to be recognized during halftime of the SSU game. Veterans or their families can send their names and branch of service to bcaudill@shawnee.edu to be read during the game. Submissions should be made by 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. Veterans that sign up beforehand will receive a voucher to use at the concession stand during the game.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to be recognized,” said Brian Caudill, SSU Coordinator of Military & Veteran Services. “This event is open to all veterans whether they attend Shawnee State or not.”

There will be a presentation of colors by a local honor guard and performance of the National Anthem prior to the start of the SSU game. Tickets for the games are $5.00 for general admission or $3.00 for seniors. Veterans will receive free admission to the games.
