“We thought that a night of great music would be a wonderful kickoff to Veterans Recognition Day,” said Brian Caudill, SSU’s Veterans Service Coordinator. “Through the amazing support of Shawnee State University and several local businesses, we are proud to be able to offer a limited selection of free tickets to veterans.”

Coming off of a tour opening for the Zac Brown Band, King Calaway was formed in 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee and features Minford, Ohio native Caleb Miller along with Chris Deaton, Simon Dumas, and Chad Michael Jervis. The group has honed their exclusive mix of unmistakable vocals, fearless, thoughtful song choices and fresh-yet-familiar production. In addition to the Zac Brown Band, they have opened for Garth Brooks, Rascal Flatts, Gabby Barrett, and Scotty McCreery, and have performed on television shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late, Late Show with James Corden, TODAY, and The Kelly Clarkson Show. Their new 16-song album Tennessee’s Waiting was released in 2023 and features the single “The Other Half”.

Tickets for King Calaway are $35 for Lower Tier seating and $30 for Upper Tier seating. Seat and ticket selection can be found online at vrcfa.com, by calling (740) 351-3600, or in-person at the McKinley Box Office Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 pm. Veterans interested in receiving a free ticket can contact Brian Caudill at bcaudill@shawnee.edu or by calling (740) 351-4441. There is a limit to two tickets per request.
