Shawnee State University will hold a Bear Run on Wednesday, Sept. 25 beginning at 6 p.m. Held on SSU’s campus since the fall of 1995, the Bear Run is a biannual 5K run/walk open to the campus and surrounding communities. All funds raised during the Bear Run will support SSU Athletics.
The course will begin on 3rd Street by the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts before traveling through campus, past Shawnee Turf, and along the Portsmouth Ohio Floodwall Murals and the Ohio River to Alexandria Point. The course then circles back to finish on 3rd Street by the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
Registration is currently open for participants. SSU students and students under the age of 18 may register for free. All other adult racers may register for $25. Bear Run t-shirts are available to add on to registrations for an additional $10. To register, visit shawnee.edu/bear-run.
