“Dr. Inman has demonstrated the strategic, collaborative, and ethical leadership that is crucial to a comprehensive review of our academic programs, an initiative that boldly expands internships and ties to regional employers, and strategies that make real progress in retention, completion and accreditation outcomes,” SSU President Eric Andrew Braun said.

Starting at SSU in 2013 in the Department of Natural Sciences, Dr. Inman was named the Chair of the department beginning in 2018. She was then named the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences in July 2023. On campus, she has been involved in several outreach initiatives with K-12 students for science activities and visits to the SSU Anatomy Lab. She has also served on the university’s Educational Policies & Curriculum Committee, served as the faculty co-chair on the Higher Learning Committee’s Criterion 3 focus group, and serves as a member of the Ohio Department of Education’s Transfer Assurance Guide Anatomy & Physiology Faculty Panel.

“I am honored to serve Shawnee State in this leadership role,” said Dr. Inman. “There is a need for strong academic programs interconnected with meaningful student-focused co-curricular programming. Through all of these experiences our students develop the critical thinking, creativity, communication, and specialized knowledge to become engaged members of our community and workforce. I look forward to leading the team of dedicated faculty and staff who are delivering SSU’s mission through academic and student affairs.”

Dr. Inman received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Marshall University in 1998 before completing her Ph.D. in Cellular & Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2006. She served as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Stowers Institute of Medical Research for seven years and continued much of her developmental biology research with her students at SSU.
