Shawnee State University’s Office of the Provost has announced the appointment of Dr. Christine Raber as Provost Fellow effective June 1, 2022. A member of SSU’s faculty since 1994, Dr. Raber has served in a variety of roles within the university including as Interim Associate Provost for the past academic year.
“I am honored to serve as Provost Fellow and support the university’s efforts in preparing for our upcoming HLC mid-cycle review in March 2023,” said Dr. Raber. “Participating in accreditation activities demonstrates how we enact our mission of helping students succeed, and I look forward to working with colleagues across campus in this effort.”
Prior to her appointment as Interim Associate Provost in 2021, Dr. Raber served as a Professor of Occupational Therapy in the SSU Department of Rehabilitation Sciences playing a key role in the development of three Occupational Therapy degree programs at the university: the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, the Master of Occupational Therapy, and the Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate – the first doctoral degree offered at SSU. Her previous work on campus includes program accreditation, accessibility on campus, and the Give Back, Go Forward 2.0 initiative.
“Christine comes with significant experiences in accreditation, and her service as Interim Associate Provost this year will allow her to bring a broad perspective to the assurance argument for HLC,” said Dr. Sunil Ahuja, SSU Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs. “Christine, along with Dr. Marc Scott, will provide the necessary leadership to ensure a successful mid-cycle review.”
