The Master of Curriculum and Instruction content is organized to achieve these goals through three strands of courses: 1) a graduate education core, 2) a capstone (research) core, and 3) a content core – courses focused on Curriculum & Instruction content, a central aspect of the teaching profession. Students can individualize their final research project to better suit their needs by completing an applied research project in an approved topic area developed within their current teaching assignment.
Courses will be offered in a convenient online format, and coursework is designed to be completed asynchronously. Occasionally, professors may ask students to meet live online, but these situations will be infrequent; and, students will be notified in plenty of time to make arrangements for these meetings.
Faculty teaching in the program will maintain regular in-person office hours, during which online meetings can also be hosted, should students have questions or concerns about course material. In addition, technical assistance will be provided at convenient times for students with technology issues.
