The Shawnee State University Musical Theatre Department will present the hilarious, 9 to 5, The Musical, Nov. 17-20 at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA). Each show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater of the VRCFA.
9 to 5, The Musical is about three female coworkers who are pushed to their boiling point and concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events the three coworkers – Violet, Judy, and Doralee – live out their wildest fantasy by giving their boss the boot. While their boss remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. The show is written by Dolly Parton and is based on the film 9 to 5.

Tickets for the show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $12 for those 18 years of age and under, $12 for SSU faculty and staff, and $5 for SSU students. Handicap accessible seating is also available upon request.
All COVID-19 health guidelines will be observed, including that all attendees must wear face masks indoors on SSU’s campus, regardless of their vaccination status.
