The $1,000 “Shawnee Game Design Award” is sponsored by the Shawnee Student Research Experience. The award is granted for student projects that showcase innovation in game design and execution. SSU student projects that have not been presented at SGC events in the past are eligible for consideration. The project must be presented at the 2021 SGC to be considered. The project presentation should contain a short pitch for the student’s game idea explaining the mechanics and player goals, as well as describing the software and hardware utilized in the project.

One $500 “Jack Bohm - Art Portfolio Award” will be presented during the 2021 SGC. The award is sponsored by Jack Bohm to recognize student creative work in video game art. The student’s portfolio should contain more than six art pieces and be created using ArtStation.

The $500 “Melanie Gordon – Game Pitch Award” recognizes student professionalism and creativity in video game marketing. The presentation should include a recorded presentation of the student’s game idea and contain a professional marketing deck.

The “ArtStation Student Recognition Award” grants students with free “ArtStation Pro” upgrades. All students attending Shawnee Game Conference are eligible for this award sponsored by ArtStation and students must apply at the ArtsStation booth at SGC.
