The 2021 Virtual Tri-State Conference of Diversity & Inclusion will be holding an Undergraduate Student Diversity Writing Contest and winner of the contest will receive a one-time $750 scholarship.  

2021 VIRTUAL TRI-STATE CONFERENCE ON DIVERSITY & INCLUSION SEPTEMBER 20-24, 2021

Participants interested in competing will write about what they think of diversity in the context of people. Answer questions regarding in what ways you consider yourself diverse, what has led you to embrace your diversity, and lastly, tell of a time you faced obstacles because of that diversity – include how you overcame those obstacles and how it has impacted how you interact with others.  

Students enrolled at Shawnee State University, as well as Ohio University Southern, Marshall University, Ashland Community & Technical College, University of Rio Grande & Rio Grande Community College, Mountwest Community & Technical College, and Morehead University are welcomed to compete in the contest.  

Each student may submit one essay with 1,000 words maximum and must be the original, unpublished work of the student. All entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on August 23, 2021.  

The 2021 Tri-State Conference of Diversity & Inclusion will be held virtually starting September 20-24.
