Program Overview
As the study of behavior and cognitive processes, the field of psychology provides students with the opportunity to study the disciplines of developmental, social, clinical, cognitive, and biological psychology. With an emphasis on courses focused on biopsychology, students will be prepared to understand a deeper meaning of the way psychology affects the brain.
With a strong emphasis on biopsychology, students in the Neuroscience concentration will have the opportunity to study neuropharmacology, sensation and perception, cognitive neuroscience, physiology of behavior, and evolutionary psychology.
With small class sizes, Shawnee State gives students the opportunity to learn from experienced faculty members in an individualized study experience. Students can form strong connections with their professors and classmates, giving them thorough college educational experience.
