Shawnee State University to host ACT Test Prep on May 4

Shawnee State University will host an ACT Test Prep session on Saturday, May 4 starting at 8:30 a.m. on the university’s campus. Participants in the session will discuss tips and strategies, complete a practice test, and receive feedback to enhance test performance. The session will last until 12:30 p.m.

Springfield Symphony Jazz Orchestra coming to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on March 22

Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) welcomes the Springfield Symphony Jazz Orchestra on Friday, Mar. 22. Their performance “Sintra Sings, Basie Swings” will be begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater in the VRCFA.

Staggs exploring human behavior through both Business and Criminology at SSU

A sophomore at Shawnee State University, Madison Staggs, a native of West Portsmouth, Ohio, has already carved out a unique path for herself within her education.

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management, Staggs is also studying a minor in Criminology. She has always found herself drawn to the complexities of law and justice, embracing a future ambition to become an attorney.

Shawnee State University to host SUMS Math Competition on May 2

Shawnee State University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences will host a SUMS Math Competition on Thursday, May 2 for high school students residing in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The competition, held on campus, will allow students to compete as individuals or as part of a team for scholarship prizes.

SSU Kricker Innovation Hub to host Startup Weekend: Portsmouth Apr. 5-7

Shawnee State University’s Kricker Innovation Hub (KIH) will host its annual Startup Weekend: Portsmouth on Apr. 5-7. A Techstars event, Startup Weekend, a three-day program that has been held in over 150 countries around the globe, provides participants with the opportunity to think, work, and build as a startup business.
