Shawnee State University will welcome Jack Hartmann to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on Friday, Feb. 9 for two events – a teacher workshop during the day and a family concert in the evening.

Hartmann has written and recorded more than 700 educational children’s songs as well as a children’s book titled “Over the Ocean”. More recently, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from his alma mater, University of Florida.
            

The teacher workshop is geared for administrators, teachers, and staff who work with children from birth through second grade. The session will be held starting at 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each attendee will also receive a meet and greet with Hartmann as well as a complimentary ticket to the evening’s family concert.
           

The concert, geared for families with children aged two through eight, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Families also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP experience to the event that includes a meet and greet with Hartmann starting at 6:00 p.m.
            

Both events will be held in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater of the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. Tickets are available online at vrcfa.com or at the McKinley Box Office in the VRCFA, Monday through Friday. Tickets can also be purchased via telephone call at (740) 351-3600.
