Kentucky Scholars

All outstanding Kentucky students have an opportunity to attend Shawnee State University at the lower in-state tuition cost through the Kentucky Scholars Program — no matter where you live in the state.

New Freshman

Kentucky Scholars is a scholarship offered to new freshmen students from Kentucky who have achieved a composite score of 18 or higher on the ACT (combined mathematics and critical reading SAT scores of 940 or higher) and have a high school grade point average of at least 2.75 (4.0 scale).

Transfer Students

New transfer students may quality for the scholarship with a minimum cumulative college grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

The scholarship is equal to the out-of-state surcharge, lowering your tuition to the in-state rate. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years contingent upon completing 28 semester hours per year and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0.



West Virginia Scholars — NEW!

All outstanding incoming first-time freshman and new transfer students from West Virginia now have an opportunity to attend Shawnee State at the lower in-state tuition cost through the West Virginia Scholars Program.

New Freshman
