Search Committee Meeting 
December 17, 2014

The SSU Presidential Search Committee met Wednesday, December 17, at noon at the Christopher Inn in Chillicothe. Committee members reviewed preliminary plans for on-campus interviews. It is anticipated that candidates will spend three days on campus to provide opportunities for the university community, as well as the public, to meet them. These meetings are tentatively scheduled to begin late January, pending identification of candidates. Orientation sessions for groups that will be conducting interviews will be held in January.

Consultants Cindy Hilsheimer, Wilson Browning, and Wes Reed from BeecherHill met with the committee to provide an update on search activities, including advertising, development and distribution of the executive profile, and outreach to prospective candidates. 

Advisory Committee Meeting 
November 20, 2014

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee held its second meeting on November 20th at Shawnee State University. The completed Executive Profile for the position was reviewed and competencies needed by presidential candidates discussed. A framework for on campus interviews was shared including the role the Advisory Committee will play.

Search Committee Meeting 
November 14, 2014

The Shawnee State University Presidential Search Committee met Friday, November 14th at 3:30 in the Selby Board Room of the Clark Memorial Library. The meeting included a review of competencies for presidential candidates and a discussion of the framework and training for on campus interviews. The Search Committee then went into Executive Session to "consider the employment of a University employee".

Advisory Committee Meeting 
September 16, 2014

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee held its first meeting on September 16 at 4pm
at Shawnee State University. The Advisory Committee was joined by representatives from
the BeecherHill executive search firm from Columbus, Ohio. Discussions included a review
of the search process and timeline as well as the role the committee will play in the
presidential search. The development of an Executive profile for the position and an
advertising strategy was discussed.

Search Committee Meeting 
August 19, 2014 

The Presidential Search Committee held its third meeting on August 19, 2014 at the
Christopher Inn in Chillicothe. BeecherHill, the executive search firm selected for the
search, was in attendance. The role and membership of the Presidential Search Advisory
Committee was finalized. Appointment letters for the committee will be sent this week and
the membership and role of the committee posted on the University website. A
preliminary framework was discussed for campus and community involvement to assure
input regarding candidates when campus interviews are conducted. The Search Committee
then went into Executive Session "to consider the employment of a University employee".

Search Committee Meeting 
July 18, 2014 

The Presidential Search Committee held its second meeting on July 18th, 2014 at the
Christopher Inn in Chillicothe. Consultants Cindy Hilsheimer and Wilson Browning from
BeecherHill met with the committee to discuss the search timeline, the processes necessary
to identify a new president by March 2015, and the competencies required in the next
president. The membership and role of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee was
discussed and it was agreed that appointment letters, along with a description of the role of
the Advisory Committee will be sent mid-August.

Search Committee Meeting 
June 16 & 17, 2014 

The Presidential Search Committee held its organizational meeting on June 16/17, 2014.
The desired qualities and skills of the new president were discussed and plans for the
presidential search process were reviewed. The respective roles of the Presidential Search
Committee and Presidential Search Advisory Committee were also discussed. Time was
then spent on identifying the skills and experience needed in an executive search firm. The
decision was made to hire BeecherHill of Columbus, Ohio.
