Connecting IT for Employees

Follow these steps to connect your Computer to the SSU Wireless Network

  1. If you do not know your network/email password please bring a staff ID to the Help Desk for assistance with getting the password reset. Once your password is reset or known you can proceed with connecting your computer.

  2. Click on the wireless icon -- Wireless Icon -- on your task bar. Select SSUnet, the Shawnee State University wireless network.

  3. Once you are connected, open your web browser and you will be re-directed to the SSUnet Sign On page. Enter your network username and password. Click “Sign On”.

  4. The following screen will appear asking you to Accept or Decline the Policy 5.30 – Use of Campus Computing Resources.

  5. The Welcome to SSUnet! screen will appear. Select “Continue” and click the home button on your web browser.

Follow these steps to connect your Smartphone or other mobile device to the SSU Wireless Network and Email.

  1. If you do not know your network/email password please bring your Staff ID to the Help Desk for assistance with getting the password reset. Once your password is reset or known you can proceed with connecting your device.

  2. Please refer to your smartphone or mobile device manufacturer’s documentation for instructions on how to connect your smartphone to Wi-Fi. Connect your device to SSUnet, Shawnee’s wireless network.

  3. Once connected your smartphone or mobile device may automatically display the SSUnet Sign On page. If this page does not display automatically, simply open a web browser on your smartphone or mobile device. Enter your network/email username and password and Click “Sign On”

  4. The following screen will appear asking you to Accept or Decline the Policy 5.30 – Use of Campus Computing Resources.

  5. The Welcome to SSUnet! screen will appear. Select “Continue” and click the home button on your web browser.

  6. To add your Shawnee State email to your smartphone or mobile device, first refer to your manufacturer’s documentation for your smartphone or mobile device, for instructions on how to add a new email account.

  7. When prompted choose “Microsoft Exchange”, “Corporate”, or “Active Sync” as the account type.

  8. Next, provide the details for adding the new account.

  9. Enter your entire “@shawnee.edu” email address as both the address and your username.

  10. Enter your password for your Shawnee network/email account.

  11. When prompted for a server, enter “webmail.shawnee.edu” Please leave Domain blank.

  12. Press “Done” or “Save” and your Shawnee email will now appear in your smartphone’s or mobile device’s mailbox.
