Since the majority of issues addressed by the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services tend to be short-term in nature, the Office utilized the brief psychotherapy model. However; in some instances, a student may be in need of long-term, more intensive or specialized services.
In those cases, the Office offers referral services to the appropriate care provider. This may necessitate a referral to a private psychologist or psychiatrist, the local mental health or drug/alcohol rehabilitation centers, a detox unit or an in-patient hospital.
For more information, stop by the Office of Counseling and Health Services, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm or call (740) 351-3213. Evening hours are available by appointment.
