Workforce Development

We are working to support the needs of our regional business community.

We are partnering with our regional businesses and organizations to provide needed training and commercial services both on and off campus.  Local companies work with our faculty members and students to conduct experimental research on campus.

In the coming months, Engineering Technologies is taking manufacturing on the move with their new mobile education lab made possible by a grant through the Ohio Department of Higher Education's RAPIDS program.

Shawnee State will use this lab in partnership with the University of Rio Grande and Community College, Southern State Community College, Ohio University (Southern and Chillicothe campuses) and the Career Technical Centers of Scioto County, Pickaway-Ross, and Buckeye Hills.  The lab will be used across the region to promote the manufacturing industry and careers in southeast Ohio, and also to provide training to students and workers in the area -- including training on the latest 3D technology.

Watch our website and social media for more information about "Manufacturing on the Move."

What training and commercial needs does your business have?

Shawnee State University might be able to help by providing non-credit training at your site, on Shawnee State's campus or eventually in our new Innovation Accelerator when it opens on Chillicothe Street later this year.  Let us also know about any commercial service needs (i.e. research, testing) your business might have.  We're here to help make our regional business community partners successful.  Contact our Workforce Development office at (740) 351-3322, or email our Workforce Development Coordinator, Angie Duduit, at
