We are working to support the needs of our regional business community.
We are partnering with our regional businesses and organizations to provide needed training and commercial services both on and off campus. Local companies work with our faculty members and students to conduct experimental research on campus.
Shawnee State University Engineering Technologies and the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College's Industrial Technology program are taking manufacturing on the move with a mobile education lab made possible by a grant through the Ohio Department of Higher Education's RAPIDS program.

HAZWOPER Training Resource
The Environmental Health and Safety Mobile Training Unit is a portable multi-function hazardous material training facility which will be utilized across the region for both college credit and non-credit training programs. The trailer will be used for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) training in accordance with OSHA standards.
This trailer was purchased with funds awarded by the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) grant. Ohio University's Southern Campus is collaborating with grant partners Shawnee State University, the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College, Southern State Community College and the Ohio Higher Education Commission to provide workforce training to the region.
For more information, see the Fact Sheet for the Environmental Health and Safety Mobile Training Unit.
What training and commercial needs does your business have?

Let us also know about any commercial service needs (i.e. research, testing) your business might have. We're here to help make our regional business community partners successful.
