If you need to cancel a session you must notify the Student Success Center at (740) 351-3594 as soon as possible. If the tutor is not notified within at least two (2) hours of before the session then you may be charged with a "No-Show".

A "no-show" can be defined in three separate ways:

  • A "no-show" is when a tutor/tutee makes no attempt to notify the Student Success Center that he/she is unable to attend a scheduled tutorial session.
  • A "no-show" is when a tutor/tutee does not notify concerned parties of a cancellation two hours in advance of a scheduled tutorial session.
  • A "no-show" is a tutorial appointment that a tutor/tutee fails to keep.

After two "no-shows" all tutoring for the tutee is cancelled for all classes the student is receiving assistance. To resume tutoring the tutee must pay for the two "no-shows", which is minimum wage per hour.

After payment tutoring will continue with the Student Success Center resuming full cost.

If a third "no-show" occurs the tutee will again stop receiving tutoring services for all courses they are receiving assistance. To resume tutoring the tutee must pay for the "no-show" which is minimum wage per hour.

After the payment is made all tutoring will resume with the Student Success Center resuming full cost.

Both the tutor and tutee are required to call the Student Success Center at (740) 351-3594 at least two hours in advance of the scheduled session. The Success Center will then call the second party or post a note on the Tutoring Bulletin Board.
This is the only way of not being charged a "no-show".
