LEADERSHIP ENCOURAGING ADVANCEMENT & DIRECTION

Shawnee's LEAD program is multi-faceted in nature and offers  several avenues for potential development to its participants:
1) Student leader training and skill building seminars focus on preparing students to hold office in an organization or club. Skills learned will be useful throughout life.
2) Leadership retreats target various student groups such as Student Senate, Greeks, newly elected officers, etc.
3) Video and print resource library of leadership materials is available.
4) A co-curricular transcript program that denotes a student's involvement in community service and college activities consolidated into a single portfolio.
5) Guidance and direction on specific leadership issues is provided.
6) A strong emphasis is placed on involvement in campus clubs and organizations

LEAD interactive sessions are conducted by campus and community leaders. The program helps students gain valuable personal and professional skills. It also assists students in developing balance between personal and professional life.

Emerging leaders, with little or no leadership experience participate in activities that include fundamental leadership skills. Advanced leaders discuss a wide array of topics.

For further details concerning the LEAD program, please don't hesitate to contact the Office of Student Activities and Auxiliaries at (740) 351-3217.
