USEC's Associate Technician
Technology Training

Shawnee State University in conjunction with OSU South Centers is offering USEC's associate technician technology training courses. The program is a pre-employment training program for USEC and is worth 60 contact hours.

Prerequisites include COMPASS test and Intermediate Algebra. Some of the courses will be offered at SSU while others will be at the OSU South Centers in Piketon.

The course consists of electrical and control, along with fluids and heat transfer. In the first part of the course successful students will be competent in the fundamental principles of DC and AV electricity, motors, generators, transformers, and power distribution.

Some classes will also be offered at the Endeavor Center as well. Some of these classes include Gas Laws and Properties and Circuit Design and Control Systems.

Classes will meet every Wednesday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Jan. 12 through May 4.

The registration fee is $935 per person. Students who earned C– or above in ETEM CT01 Electro Concepts (2008, 2009, or 2010), may begin class in the fourth class session on Feb 2. The adjusted registration fee is $735.00.

Classes will take place at the OSU Endeavor Center 160 Location and SSU's Advanced Technology Center, Room 303.
