The Ohio State Marching Band comes to Shawnee State University

            The music marches on when the nationally acclaimed all-brass Ohio State University Marching Band comes to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at as part of the Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association and Shawnee State University Family Pops Series.
            Several members of the band are from the southern Ohio area. In Scioto County, band members are David Pettit, of Portsmouth; Eric Hill, of Northwest; and Justin Crawford, of Franklin Furnace. In Pike County, band members are Katie DeVelin, Cody Dewitt and Jake Evans.
            Wear your Scarlet and Gray and join the enthusiastic audience when the band and the strutting drum major return to perform on the main stage at the Vern Riffe Center. Clap and sing to “I Wanna Go Back,” “Hang On Sloopy,” “Across the Field” and many more OSU traditional songs.
            The internationally acclaimed all brass OSU Marching Band has become known as TBDBITL. The OSU Marching Band has been honored around the country for its excellence, including being awarded the Sudler Trophy as the outstanding college band in the country. Buckeye faithful come from near and far to see and hear "The Pride of the Buckeyes."
            Each fall, thousands thrill to the strains in the Horseshoe, in St. John Arena, and in stadiums and concert halls around the state and country. The band's performances have been cheered at many bowl games, including the Citrus Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and the Rose Bowl. The band also performs frequently for NFL contests in Cleveland and Cincinnati. Additionally, each summer the band joins in concert the Columbus Symphony Orchestra at their summer “Picnic with the Pops” finale.
