SSU Student Receives George Heller Memorial Basketball Scholarship

George Heller was a long-time basketball coach of the Portsmouth High School Trojans and a strong supporter of both the men and women's basketball teams at Shawnee State University.

In memory of Coach Heller, Dr. John Walker and his wife, Linda, of Portsmouth, are sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship annually to alternate between the men and women's basketball teams at Shawnee State.

Tyler Boyles is the recipient of the scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year. Boyles is a 2009 graduate of Raceland High School, in Raceland, Ky., and will take the court this season as a junior guard for the Shawnee State Men's Basketball team.
