Shawnee State University Teams Up With Ohio University-Chillicothe to Offer Supervisory Certification Program

From Sept. 14 through Oct. 26 Shawnee State University and Ohio University- Chillicothe partnered to offer a seven-course Supervisory Certification program taught by the personnel director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Tamela Moore.
Some students of the program chose to take all seven courses or to take a course or two.
“There will be 16 graduates of the seven-session program,” Ginnie Moore, Director of University Outreach at SSU, said. “It offers great information to help build the skills of supervisors.”
The seven courses offered in the certification program included essentials of leadership, understanding employee strengths, resolving conflict, leading high performance teams, delegating for results, understanding harassment in the workplace and essentials of personnel law.
“I enjoyed sharing wisdom and offering tools and resources to help people grow personally and professionally,” Tamela Moore said.
Some of the students who enrolled in the program noted that they have already applied the techniques that they learned through the coursework and have used it in the workplace successfully.
