Children's Learning Center students learn bike-riding safety

The Dr. Miller and Genevieve Toombs Children's Learning Center at Shawnee State University is participating in the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program to teach children about riding and toy-safety rules. A track was laid out in front of the CLC where children ride trikes and scooters. In the photo, Kennedy Foley, daughter of Daria Cummings of Daria's House of Style in Portsmouth and Jimmy Foley, of Portsmouth, takes her turn on the bike path.
On Friday, Oct. 28, the children wore their Halloween costumes and visited offices at Shawnee State to collect donations and Trick or Treat candy. Over the years, CLC has donated more than $10,000 to St. Jude's Hospital. St. Jude's mission is to find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
