            The Shawnee State University Scholarship Committee awarded Kristen Fike the 2009-10 Home for Aged Women Scholarship of $200.
            Applicants of this scholarship must have filed an application for admission to a degree program. They must be able to submit a high school transcript or G.E.D. score or college transcripts if applicable. They must demonstrate financial need and have completed the FAFSA.
            Recipient Kristen Fike, daughter of Dave and Sharon Fike, of Bradford, Ohio in Miami County is a 2007 graduate of Bradford High School and a returning SSU student. In high school Fike was named the valedictorian of her class and was a member of the National Honor Society, Yearbook Staff, Media Tech and Peer Leadership. She played as a team member on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams. She is a member of Omega Pi Mu and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society at SSU. Fike is pursuing a degree in nursing and plans to work in the maternity unit of an accredited recognized hospital.
