Shawnee State University Celebrates National Denim Day
Faculty and staff at Shawnee State University contributed
$520 to benefit the Women’s Cancer Programs of the
Entertainment Industry Foundation for cancer research and to
benefit SSU’s Mobile Health Unit. The EIF also supports an
effort by world-class scientists to develop a blood test for
earlier detection of breast cancer when survival rates are
the highest, known as the Breast Cancer biomarker Discovery
Project. It also supports Christina Applegate’s Foundation
to provide aid to individuals who are at increased risk for
breast cancer and do not have insurance or financial
resources to cover the high costs associated with breast
screenings. In the photo, many of the contributors gather
for National Denim Day in the new University Center lobby.
The event was sponsored by the Women’s Center at Shawnee
State.
