Shawnee State University is offering an intensive six-week Personal Fitness Trainer National Certificate Course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays from Oct. 31 to Dec. 12. The program is open to students and the general public with a fee of $519 plus the cost of the required textbook. “The program is open to anyone, even if they are not a student,” said Vicci Felts, representative for University Outreach Services. The program is divided into 15 hours of lectures and 15 hours of hands-on activities. Certification will be awarded after the completion of the course, a 30-hour internship, the passing of exams, and proof of current adult CPR certification.
