The Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association (SOPAA) welcomes the Toledo Symphony back to Shawnee State University's Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
The symphony is performing a very special afternoon of music by American composers, George Gershwin, Aaron Copland and many others.
Conductor Jeffrey Pollock is known internationally for the musicality of his performances, his innovative concert programming, and for his ability to make connections with audiences.
The featured composition for this performance will be George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Michael Boyd, professor of piano at The University of Toledo will be performing this piece of American music.
The concert is sponsored by the Scioto Foundation and part of the Charles Varney Classic Series. Tickets are $36 to $38 for regular admission; $34 to $36, senior admission; and $29 to $32, student admission.
