When a young graduate student defends his thesis on the creation of the heavens and earth to a dean and two professors, the discussion follows an interesting perspective on the world.
The dean and the professors are favorably impressed, until a pair of seriously flawed inhabitants of earth show up – a typical man and woman – and the comedy plot continues.
The Shawnee State University Theater Department presents Rich Orloff's comedy, "The Whole Shebang," for its first production of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8 on the main stage at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
This play asks the question, "What if the entire universe was just some nerd's science project?" We meet a young graduate student who is striving to earn his master's degree – more specifically, his M.U. (Master of the Universe.) It is his turn to defend his thesis – the creation of the heavens and the earth.
The student cast includes Robert Neal, Marita Smith and Ben Ott. Denise Gregory, SSU Coordinator of Alumni and Retiree Affairs, Professor Tom Piontek and Mary Oling-Sisay, SSU Vice President of Student Affairs will round out the cast as the professors and the dean who put the student through his paces.
Tickets are available at the McKinley Box Office in the Vern Riffe Center Lobby at $6.00 per person.
