Shawnee State University Offers Two Classes for Child
Care Providers
Two courses for child care providers will be held at Shawnee
State University, one on “Child Abuse Recognition” and one
on “Communicable Disease Recognition.”
The “Child
Abuse Recognition” course is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on
Friday, Sept. 24 in Massie Hall, Room 208.
The 21st
Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) in conjunction with
the Child Care Resource Network and the Corporation for Ohio
Appalachian Development (COAD) will be presenting the
course.
The course
has been approved by the Ohio Department of Job and Family
Services (ODJFS) and meets the criteria for the required
six-hour course for child care providers.
Course
content includes recognition of child abuse and neglect,
types of abuse and neglect, risk factors, Ohio law and
mandated reporting.
Another
course, “Communicable Disease Recognition,” is from 8:30
a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 in the Advanced Technology
Center, Room 132.
The course
has been approved by the Ohio Department of Job and Family
Services (ODJFS) and meets the criteria for the required
six-hour course for child care providers.
