Shawnee State University Offers Confined Space Entry
Course
Shawnee State University is offering a training course,
“Confined Space Entry – Don’t Become A Victim” from 8 a.m.
until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the Advanced Technology
Center Room 132.
The trainer
will address the proper procedures for entering and working
in a confined space as set forth in OSHA General Industry
Regulation 29.
It is
recommended that any employees who must work in or near
confined spaces along with managers and supervisors who need
to understand confined space requirements imposed by OSHA
take the course.
The training
course will cover the following material:
Identifying, classifying and controlling confined spaces and
permit required for confined spaces.
Use and
maintenance of full body harnesses, tripods, retrieval
devices and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Correct
methods for air monitoring and ventilation.
Identify the responsibilities of authorized entrants,
attendants and supervisors.
The
registration fee for the course is $195. Southern Ohio
Safety Council members will receive a discount price of
$139. All instructional materials are provided and lunch is
included in the course fee.
