Music, food, crafts and more are planned in Portsmouth this Saturday. Shawnee State University and Main Street Portsmouth have teamed up to present a Street Fair on the Roy Rogers Esplanade from 1 to 5 p.m.
"The purpose of the Street Fair is to engage SSU students in downtown Portsmouth," said Jennifer Kephas, Main Street Portsmouth director. "As part of welcoming these students into our community, we want to introduce them to the shops, restaurants, and activities that make Portsmouth a unique and wonderful place to live."
Justin Bell, Modern Saints, Cirque d' Art and Tom Stiverson will entertain on the Esplanade stage throughout the afternoon.
Face painting, free food samples from area restaurants, informational displays, arts and crafts, books from area authors and hand-crafted jewelry will be set up surrounding the esplanade.
More than 30 vendors will be participating including downtown businesses such as the Market Street Café, Vanity Hair Company, Elite School of Cosmetology, Z-Collections, WNXT, Smith's Pharmacy and Home Medical and Port City Café.
