            Five new Teacher Education students from China have arrived at Shawnee State University from South China Normal University, located in the city of Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdong Province.
            They are here for one semester as part of the exchange program between SSU and SCNU. Min “Minna” Lin, Tao “Peach” Wu, Wanhua “Willow” Xie, Zi “Panda” Yuan and Hui “Clare” Zhang toured the SSU campus on Monday, Aug. 9.
            Xie and Min are undergraduates majoring in elementary education. Yuan, Wu and Zhang will be in the master of education program in comparative education at SSU.
            Amy Armes and Jenny Remington, 2010 SSU graduates, who completed their student teaching last year in China, took the students on the campus tour. Kristin Wilson, who was also in China as a student teacher with Armes and Remington, has been offered a full time teaching position at the Yung Wing Kindergarten in the city of Zhuhai, 40 miles from Hong Kong in South China. She is licensed in early childhood education in Ohio.
