Students attend first Honors Music Academy at Shawnee State University

Music students from around Scioto County participated in the first Honors Music Academy at Shawnee State University in June. A grant from the National Endowment for the Arts funded the program. Michael Barnhart was program director and T.R. Beery, adjunct instructor in piano, was program coordinator. Barnhart and Beery are planning another program in the fall. Students were in the academy for four days at SSU studying music theory. In the photo, Barnhart instructs the students during one of the sessions.
