Shawnee State University is offering a comprehensive Real Estate Agent Pre-licensing course that will guide participants through the licensing process every step of the way. Classroom continuing education courses are also offered.
The first class, Real Estate Principles and Practice, will be from 5:30 to 9:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 13 to Thursday, Oct. 13. The class is an introduction to real estate economics and administrations and includes elementary physical, legal, locational and economic characteristics of real estate and real estate markers, plus national, regional and local economic influences on real estate values.
The second class, Real Estate Law, is on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:50 p.m. from Oct. 16 to Nov. 17. This class includes the law of agency as applied to real estate brokers and salesmen, law of fixtures, estates, conveyancing of real estate, real estate managers, license laws of Ohio, zoning, cooperatives and condominiums.
The third class, Real Estate Finance and Appraisal, is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 9:50 p.m. from Oct.18 to Nov. 16. It includes Analysis of real estate financing, lending policies in financing transactions in residential, commercial and special purpose properties. The Fundamentals of Appraising is also included in this class.
After successfully passing the state exam, participants will receive a real estate sales associate license. Within one year of licensure, participants must complete a 10-hour sales post licensing course.
Registration is $429 per course or if registered for all three courses the cost is $999. Fees must be paid by Friday, Sept. 9.
