Benefit Golf Scramble and Continuing Education at Elks Country Club

On Saturday, May 21, Shawnee State University Physical Therapist Assistant Program is having a Golf Scramble and Continuing Education program to benefit the Kay Beegan Physical Therapist Assistant Scholarship.

Dr. Neil A. Evans is the presenter. He is program leader and associate professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Shawnee State. Evans has extensive experience with biomechanical analysis and therapeutic intervention. He is co-owner of Elite Rehab & Fitness LLC that specializes in both outpatient orthopedic and home health physical therapy services.

The CEU Course schedule is from 9 a.m. to noon beginning with "Video analysis of the golf swing: Determining right from wrong!" Other classes include "Improper biomechanics can create injury," "Assessing the golfer for injury," and "Therapeutic interventions to treat and prevent overuse injuries in golf."

Participants can register for the CEU classes with lunch only or the Golf Scramble with lunch only or both the CEUs and Golf Scramble with lunch as a single or as a team of four. Sponsors have two options, sponsoring a hole or the hole-in-one prize.

Lunch is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and the Shotgun Start Golf Scramble begins at 2 p.m. The Grand Prize of tickets to the PGA Memorial Golf Tournament at Muirfield Golf Club will be awarded for a hole-in-one. Prizes also will be awarded for closest to hole and longest drive. Awards will follow at the Club House.
