Adjuncts at Shawnee State University completed the new Adjunct Academy in April and were presented with a Certificate of Completion and an honorarium at a special dinner on Tuesday, April 20. Attendees at the dinner are from left front, adjuncts Deb Davis, Amanda Blau and Michelle McCleese. In the back row are Timothy Scheurer, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Jim Kadel, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Professional Studies, SSU Provost David Todt, Ph.D., Darrell Rudman, Ph.D., assistant professor Psychology, Social Sciences Department, and interim associate provost, and Jim Settle, Ph.D., vice president of Student Affairs.

            Three adjuncts at Shawnee State University completed the Adjunct Academy program hosted by Provost David Todt, Ph.D. The program ended with a dinner on Tuesday, April 20.

            The six-week course included topics on recent research in memory and learning, motivating students, encouraging students to become independent thinkers and the newest technological tools for education.

            “Adjuncts were required to complete homework of reading book chapters, watch videos and listen to podcasts,” said Darrell Rudmann, Ph.D., assistant professor Psychology, Social Sciences Department, and interim associate provost.

            They were also introduced to the Blackboard system and all its features to use. The adjuncts were presented with a Certificate of Completion and an honorarium at the dinner. Adjuncts who completed the course were Deb Davis, Amanda Blau and Michelle McCleese
