Shawnee State University's 16th Annual Spring Bear Run had 682 participants finish the 5K race on Wednesday, April 20. Keegan Rathkamp won the overall men's race in a time of 14:55. Bri Tudor was the women's overall winner for the second consecutive Bear Run. She finished the 5K in a time of 20:15.
SSU cross country runners Jeremy Hornick and Brianna Cahill won the Larry Mangus Awards for the fastest Shawnee State students. Hornick finished the course in 15:37, while Cahill completed the race in a time of 20:58.
The Bear Run is free to all students and children as well as Shawnee State faculty and staff. For the general public the entry fee is $10.00 for pre-registration and $15.00 for walk-ups. The next 5-K Bear Run will be in the fall on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
