Each year at Shawnee State University, students erect a Shanty Town using boxes to emulate a place for the homeless and bring awareness of the homeless plight. During this time, students ask for donations of money and food which this year was given to Potters House Ministries. In the photo, Greg Simms, left, SSU history major, and Heather Brewer, education major, participated in Shanty Town. The Shanty Towners collected more than 200 non-perishable food items, five grocery bags of personal care items and $545.69 for Potters House.
