SSU students win special award at Celebration of Scholarship

Three Teacher Education students presented their research at the Celebration of Scholarship winning the Gary Gemmer Award. Gemmer was instrumental in starting the Celebration of Scholarship. Students participated in a poster session and presented their research in an oral presentation on the Puppet Express, creating and using puppets to help find ways for children to express thoughts and feelings. Deborah D. Duning, M.Ed., independent reading coach, adjunct instructor, English, Teacher Education Department at Shawnee was their mentor.
