The Shawnee State University Chorus and Chorale will present their annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the main theater of the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
The concert is under the direction of Dr. Stanley Workman, conductor, and will open with choruses from Handel's "Saul" and "Judas Maccabeus" followed by the beloved "Mass in G" of Franz Schubert.
After intermission the choir will turn to the festival cantata "Rejoice in the Lamb" by Benjamin Britten, whose birth anniversary, 1913, is celebrated this year. The concert will conclude with "Abendlieder" or "Evening Songs" by Johannes Brahms. The concert is free and open to the public.
