Child Care and Early
Childhood Educators Conference to Take Place at Shawnee
State University
Shawnee State University will be hosting a conference for
child care providers and early childhood educators called
Fabulous Friday on April 16 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the
SSU campus.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be SSU’s Provost
and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dave Todt, Ph.D.
Before becoming provost, Todt served as a faculty member in
natural resources, biology and teacher education; department
chair of math/science; head of the Teacher Education
program; and the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
He recently served as associate provost and director of
Institutional Planning at SSU.
Todt has worked in the field of environmental education for
more than 40 years. He has introduced thousands of people of
all ages to outdoor experiences ranging from backyards and
school yards to the Okefenokee Swamp and Cumberland Island.
The Southern Ohio “Friend of Children” award ceremony will
take place during the annual Fabulous Friday luncheon at
noon in the Sodexo Ballroom in the University Center.
Sessions include teaching nutrition, building better
relationships, understanding ADHD, art, violence prevention
and much more.
