The Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association and Shawnee State University are offering a special evening of music and dance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 in the Main Theatre of SSU's Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
The evening begins with "Chopiniana," which debuted in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1907. This non-traditional ballet features music by Frederic Chopin and orchestration by Alexander Glazunov.
Following the intermission, the evening is capped with the company's presentation of "Romeo and Juliet" with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and story based on William Shakespeare's tragedy.
